Ira Heilveil, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in three states. He is also a board-certified behavior analyst. Dr. Heilveil is also asst. clinical professor of psychiatry at Geffen UCLA Medical School, where he has taught both family therapy to psychiatry residents (at Harbor-UCLA Medical School) and medical neuroscience to medical students (at Geffen UCLA Medical School). He is also the author of two books, including Video in Mental Health Practice and When Families Feud.

Dr. Heilveil was awarded the "Distinguished Humanitarian" award from the California Psychological Association, and was twice awarded by UCLA for his teaching abilities.

He also writes a blog called "Clear for Takeoff," which deals with aviation psychology but is geared toward the general public. Dr. Heilveil is also a private pilot.

The Ojai Family Therapy Institute also includes psychologists, psychological assistants, marriage and family therapists, and interns in order to best serve our clients.
